Shiro Yamaguchi, Ph.D.

Shiro Yamaguchi (Ph.D.) is a professor of sport management in the Department of Human Health and Wellbeing at University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences, Japan and a visiting scholar at the Department of Movement and Sport Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. My research interests focus on sport management and event management, especially I am interested in sport tourism, sponsorship , virtual sport, heritage, innovation, sustainability, social impact assessment, place meaning, and active smart city. My articles has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the Sport Marketing Quarterly, Event Management, Sport, Business and Management: An International JournalJournal of Convention & Event Tourism, Frontiers in Sports and Active LivingInternational Journal of Sport and Health ScienceJournal of Asiania Sport for All, Japan Journal of Physical Education, Health and Sport Sciences, Japanese Journal of Sport ManagementJournal of Lifelong Sport, Journal of Japan Society of Sports Industry, and so on. I am the editor-in-chief of Journal of Eventlogy and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Convention & Event Tourism and the International Journal of Sport and Health Science.
